Go on a safari with Creatura
Come on safari with us! At Creatura we believe travel is one of the most important and fun educations a person can get. Our trips focus on experiencing the animal world as it ought to be, in the wild. Our safaris are committed to working only with “eco-conscious” organizations that maintain tiny footprints and are committed to benefiting the communities they exist alongside and the wildlife they benefit from.
To share our love of wildlife we offer a small, exclusive group travel program! Come with us to East Africa and see firsthand the majestic landscapes, incredible wildlife, fantastic people, and the innovative programs being implemented to help wildlife. Our group trips are small (12 people max) and we stay in small luxury camps and lodges, no mega-hotels for us! Game drives are in open land rovers, not enclosed vans. We are there to make sure everything runs smoothly so you don't have to worry about it! Our co-travellers experience is of paramount importance to us, and we will walk you through every step to get started on your adventure!

Quotes from people who have travelled with Creatura!
"This trip was absolutely amazing, and surpassed my very high expectations. Creatura did a superb job of planning our stay at three different camps, which allowed us to safari from three different perspectives. Ekamoko was our first camp across from Nairobi National Park. It allowed us easy access to view the wildlife, and we were able to take local day trips to visit the Giraffe Center and the elephant orphanage (at The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust). Cotters 1920s Camp in the Maasai Mara Reserve was off the chart in luxury and provided the most marvelous and awe-inspiring game drives. This camp was also near a Maasai village, which we were able to visit and learn about the culture. Main Naibor, the third camp, was located on a river bend that was also home to a pod of hippos. From the gourmet food to the surprise picnics, the constant supply of high quality drinks, the luxuriating deep tissue massages, to the four poster beds with hot-water bottles prepared every evening for our feet, nothing was left out in this package! Kirsten and Chris were extremely knowledgeable, and very passionate about their conservation efforts in the area. They were also so kind, funny, and really kept our group in happy good spirits the entire trip! This was the best money I have ever spent. And I hope to do it again someday!"

"I’ve happily traveled solo around much of the United States and Europe without issue. I’ve always wanted to visit Africa, but as a female, was wary of doing it alone. Creatura Safari was the absolute best choice I could have made for my introduction to the continent. The people I met (travelers, hosts and residents) were wonderful, the accommodations were luxurious and the experience was life changing. I was afforded much independence to explore on my own, but never felt unsafe or alone in my experience. I can’t wait to go again!"

"Rough it in comfort while having an out-of-this-world experience; and you don’t even have to leave the planet! Remind yourself of life's infinite variety as you encounter marvelous animals in their natural habitat, and meet the indigenous Maasai who respectfully live alongside them. Let Creatura Wildlife Projects take you on an eco-friendly and noninvasive safari that will provide you with memories that will last a lifetime."

"I have been fortunate enough to have been on two Creatura safaris so far, both perfectly planned and locations expertly curated. The accommodations don’t do the term “glamping” justice with all camps being luxuriously appointed and well-tended and with breathtaking vistas from every angle. The staff of each camp were warm and friendly. And the guides, led by Chris Mahoney, are an endless resource of all things East Africa, be it the wildlife to the different tribal cultures to Kenya’s dedication to conservation. The safari groups are small and the game drives are all in open air land cruisers, not in stuffy over-crowded vans. You will not believe how incredibly CLOSE you get to the wildlife. When you make eye contact with a lion or elephant in their natural habitat, you will truly know what it feels like to be filled with awe. Excursions to the local Maasai villages are not to be missed. The Maasai are a proud, close-knit people steeped in tradition who are eager to share their village customs to visitors. It should come as no surprise that some of the best guides are Maasai, traversing the terrain with ease with intimate knowledge of where to best see a certain leopard here or a grand tusker there. Their English is superb and they’ll be happy to share some Swahili and Ma with you. I’m excited to see where I’ll go next with Kirsten Anderson and Creatura as I know whatever adventure is planned next is one I won’t want to miss."

"We have had the good fortune to do a little traveling and have experienced beautiful and amazing places all over the world. Every trip provided us with wonderful memories, but none of them surpass our Creatura Safari experience. Kirsten, Chris and our Safari guides exceeded all our extremely high expectations. The accommodations were luxurious with an old-world charm and they do lots of delightful little things every day to make the experience very special.
The animals… There are so many magnificent, gorgeous, cute and adorable animals… The experience is emotional and awe-inspiring and touched us deep in a way that is hard to describe. It is one of the most beautiful places on planet earth filled with so many incredible creatures living in harmony and you get to be part of it for a special moment in time. You need to experience it…words and pictures cannot convey the splendor. We thought this would be a once in a lifetime vacation; however, the experience changed us forever and we hope this will be the first of many trips to this remarkable part of the world.
Kirsten and Chris are special people and inspired us with their passion for the animals and their beautiful country. They have truly changed the way we see the world and enriched our lives with their Creatura experience. We can’t thank them enough for delivering a fantastic adventure and wonderful memories that will last our lifetime. We can’t wait to go again!!"

"It's hard to put into words what a wonderful trip we had. The beauty of Africa is so deep and powerful that it's almost impossible to describe. It was made accessible to us by people on the front lines of saving the magnificent wildlife they enabled us to witness more closely than we ever dreamed of. We also got to visit the beautiful Maasai people, so vibrant with life. It was an adventure full of excitement, yet incredibly comfortable, secure, and fun, an experience to treasure forever. It is fulfilling to know our trip actually contributed in the struggle to preserve the beauty we were so privileged to witness. Chris and Kirsten...you are good people doing good things for the planet, and you are also a total blast to hang out with! "
-Mark Ryden and Marion Peck, Portland
"My life doesn't afford me 10 days without a worry in the world very often, but there I was halfway around the world and feeling so perfectly relaxed knowing that Kirsten and Chris had our collective backs and I didn't have to think about anything other than when the next "Tusker Time" was. Thank you! This was a special trip that I needed real bad and it was everything I wanted it to be. I realized how fortunate we were to have all of this put together and orchestrated to make it so smooth and fantastic and memorable.
And one more thing, because I haven't sang the praises of Chris Mahoney in a few days...He's simply a rock star at what he does. everyone loves him out there and aside from being a great guy to travel with, his knowledge and insider contacts add so much to our travel."
